Spritzer takes control of the camp for the summer 0f 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. That’s a total 0f 7 years, in those 7 years not one nail or gallon of paint was used to improve the camp. After not being on the camp grounds for six years I was shocked to not only find that not one thing was done to improve the camp grounds, bunk houses, playing fields etc…I found the place to be in total neglect.
Looked like it wasn’t cleaned for 7 years, all the kitchen utensils were all over (red and blue mixed together), not one oven or sink [was ever] cleaned, mouse, deer and other rodents droppings all over, unlocked doors, full garbage cans (with open food) just left there. Let’s not forget the skunks and other rodents who looked at us like we were the ones that did not belong there (after all they have been there for the past 7 years) . How Spritzer got away with it from summer to summer, g-d knows.
The bunk housed:
Were never painted, had broken windows, stuffed toilets, loss wiring all over, broken stairs, broken doors, and broken sinks. Not to mention the forgotten (lost) articles that was never cleaned out. Just imagine a place that is being used and never fixed or cleaned for 7 years.
Not in working order, the pumps were stuffed with leaves, all the filters were broken.
Uncovered ditches all over, not secured and gated, broken vehicles (including two buses) parked all over the property, broken piping/leaks at every facility (the camp was never winterized from summer to summer), garbage all over, live electric wiring hanging loss etc…Etc… Plain and simple total neglect.
Spritzer claims he invested over a million in the camp, I ask were? Show us?
In the four years between the summer of 2003 throw the summer of 2006 the original directors of Machne Menachem did more for the camp then Spritzer did in 7 years and the cost did not even get close to a million dollars.

How the property was found after 7 years under Spritzers control
In just Three years of having their camp back the Original directors (the rightful owners) managed to renovate the camp to a totally different place, a place were a human beings can live.
What it takes to take care of camp grounds:
Taking care of camp grounds, especially the size of Machane Menachem (currently known as Chayolei Hamelech ) in Lackawaxan, PA [85 acres and all] is a year round job. From my experience in other camps (mainly Gan Yisroel, Parksville) I’ve learnt that besides having a care taker 12 months a year (Securing and winterizing the camp grounds) you have to start opening the camp at least a month before the children and staff start to arrive (that’s what they do in C.G.I.).
A camp Like Machne menachem in Lackawaxan, PA you better start opening right after Pasach (if you have ever been there you know what I’m talking about).
After camp comes to an end and the last bus pulls out, the work just begins. A camp like Machane Menachem can and should take (with out exaggerating) at least two weeks (8-10 hour days) to close down, that just includes cleaning up the kitchen and all the camper and staff housing. Winterizing the camp is another few days and must also be done throughout the winter.
G-d willing in the near future I will be showing documentation submitted to the court from the Original directors pointing out that (from summer to summer) the camp was not being winterized and being taken care of throughout out the year.
From reports (Spritzers camp): When the staff and campers arrived on the camp grounds they found it just as it was left from the previous summer, a total mess (any pipe that could be busted was busted).
